As part of the production and distribution of indigenous forest trees for the year 2019/2020, FarmStrong Foundation, through StrongWoods, has set up specific community tree nurseries for that purpose.
StrongWoods involves the community in the nurseries, especially for young people and women in the villages to generate jobs and income for the women’s associations.
Kodaya in the Nawa region, has been an outstanding example with 12 000 seedlings grown in the nurseries.
Albizia (‘Albizia zygia’), Bitter Kola (‘Garcinia kola’), Fraké (‘Terminalia superba’) and Ivory Coast almond (‘Terminalia ivorensis’) are some of the native species.
