Today all the team of FarmStrong Foundation celebrates International Women’s Day!
For this special day we are pleased to share the story of Jocelyne Yoro living in the village of Petit Tiémé in Côte d’Ivoire. Jocelyne a cocoa farmer, with 4 children in her care, is a member of a VSLA (Village Savings and Loans Associations) in Petit Tiémé. She was able to open a thrift shop thanks to the VSLA funds. Thanks to this income-generating activity, she is able to cover her children’s schooling expenses as well as the care of her family.
This story is one of many, with VSLA funds many women have started diverse IGA in their villages. FarmStrong Foundation is committed to support them, and we hope this story will inspire many others.
