The FarmStrong Foundation team, under the banner of its Swiss supported Green Nawa Landscape Initiative has started an important awareness raising campaign involving the region’s school children and teachers. In addition to the knowledge transfer of the importance of trees, climate, and environmental issues in general, together we have started to plant indigenous trees in their playground and around the school. Almost 3,000 trees have already been planted at 12 schools in the last few weeks. And we continue.
Each child is responsible for the care of a tree.
These trees will eventually create shade and thus reduce the temperatures around and in the school classrooms, allowing the children to work in cooler and more pleasant conditions.
